DEVELOPMENT OF 3D PIN-BY-PIN CORE SOLVER TORTIN AND COUPLING WITH THERMAL-HYDRAULICS

Currently, safety analyses mostly rely on codes which solve both the neutronics and thermal-hydraulics with assembly-wise nodes resolution as multiphysics heterogeneous transport solvers are still too time memory expensive. The pin-by-pin homogenized can be seen a bridge between traditional nodal calculations. In this work, simplified solver Tortin has been coupled sub-channel code COBRA-TF. verification of 3D is presented at first, showing very good agreement in terms axial radial power profile Monte Carlo SERPENT for small minicore state-of-the-art SIMULATE5 quarter core without feedback. Then results Tortin+COBRA-TF compared one assembly problem profiles moderator temperature show agreement, while fuel differ by up to 40 K. This caused mainly different gap conductance parameters used COBRA-TF SIMULATE5.
